Myth of Modern Man Philip G. She is not the only woman to believe that there are few, if any, real men around. Women seem to indicate they see plenty of males but far too few of the kind of men she believes are suitable as mates. Where have they gone? It’s not easy to die, but it is probably the 3^rd most important event in your life. Not everybody gets a chance to die slowly. There are some benefits. It will give you time to pack up and prepare for your journey. To help keep your tasks straight while your brain is becoming less capable of juggling thoughts, here is a little mnemonic. It seems by pheromones or by conversation or by vibrations, women can tell if he has good genes to match those of her own. There is enough wildness in women to at least in some respects emulate the lioness who will attack various possible mates and be content only with the one that can put her in her place. Women are also similar to the mare in heat giving the impotent gelding a thorough drubbing with her hind feet or sharp teeth. Though many women ostensibly want the modern man to be empathetic and gentle and although they enjoy going to coffee with such, they have really basically little interest in mating with them. What has happened? It appears men have given away their virility and masculinity. They have allowed themselves to be castrated. It is estimated that 1/4th of middle-aged men now have erectile dysfunction. EXAMPLES: A most proficient and artistic carpenter, Jimmy is now happily married to a lady from a different country. His first two marriages ended when his wife took his children, car and tools to a distant place then charged him with a variety of abuses. He was not allowed to see his children and had to support her even though he had now no means to conduct his trade. Both instances were very similar. In both instances, after patient persistence he sold the beautiful house he made for his bride, bought new tools, and gradually regained the confidence of his children after his ex-wife poisoned their minds with “your is a bad man” talk. He is allowed to talk with them but has missed out on their growing years. He enjoys his foreign lady but worries that she also will get North American attitudes toward men. Tom is a sergeant in the army. A large, muscular but caring man who hopes to pass on to his children the good parenting he received from his dad. WOMEN’S ADVANTAGES: In the Western world it appears that women have, the most social, economic and legal advantages. Consider the following: In the Western world, women hold the majority of wealth Women spend approximately 80% of the circulating dollars In an effort to help women spend those dollars, the merchandising media panders to them by writing disproportionately more stories about them, providing women’s sections and being sympathetic to their causes. Women live seven to eight years longer than men Women can out vote men at any time they wish simply because there are more of them Men are more likely to die of stress related diseases Men are more likely to kill themselves with violent suicides, although women more often have, “attempted suicide”. Men more often than women kill themselves indirectly with indirect suicides such as speeding or riding motorcycles without proper helmets. Women have a disproportionate amount of money spent on their health care Women have a disproportionate amount of money spent on their education Educational facilities and programs favor women because almost all teaching is sedentary while men learn more readily on their feet and while moving. Women are allowed to have women only facilities and institutions e.g. Women’s Hospital while men are not Women have greater verbal facility. By using their strongly expressed emotions and vocabulary, women generally win in common arguments with men. With impunity, Women use words to seriously wound a man’s self-esteem and sense of masculinity. Because there are no observable wounds, women can wound repeatedly with little remorse are even encouraged to do so by their feminist sisters Men corned by women’s arguments, hurt by her verbal abuse and made to feel impotent by her insults, want to retaliate with a physical blow but they know full well they would be immediately arrested and imprisoned. Their usual recourse is to hide their shame in drink or “dope” but when they do this; they are made to feel even more ashamed by their wives’ persistent berating. Women get lighter sentences for the same crime. While imprisoned, women generally have visiting rights to small children that men do not. Women have “affirmative action” which ensures that, all other factors being equal, they will get the government job. As a result of the above, women are better able to find good, clean jobs with benefits and pensions while men still do the large majority the really dangerous and dirty work – power linemen, logging, garbage collecting etc. Working women expect unemployed husbands to stay at home and care for the children and the house. Men are not suited for this and it further damages their self-esteem. The imagery and slant of the media is more likely to portray man as the culprit or villain in any family dispute. Women have refuge centers from men but men hounded by a woman very rarely do. Women are encouraged to dress provocatively but men are charged with harassment if they respond with sexual interest. Women more frequently obtain custody of children in court battles Men more than women must pay for their ex-partners support. This is particularly galling when he finds she is using his hard earned money to have a good time with a young lover while neglecting their children for which he has spent large amounts of money trying to gain custody. In split families, children are more likely to empathize and defend their mother Most of telling of all, women have the sole “right” to determine which preborn child lives and which she may arrange to have killed by abortion. If that wasn’t enough to men quell, some feminists are advocating that women deliberately get pregnant in order to have an abortion and feel their power over men by realizing their ability to decide who lives and who dies. Giving these large legal and social advantages, it is much easier for women to be a bully. Yet too often, sympathetic pastors and physicians will side with the complaining woman rather than the deeply hurt enraged man. Physicians and pastors, whose practice or congregation is made up mostly of women, tend to speak up for women and decry the overly reacting man even though he may be hurting more deeply. They are more easily manipulated by the woman’s dramatic expression of her fear or pain. Many Christian wives claim they are obedient and submissive to their husbands but live lives that are subtly controlling. They support what they do with innuendoes of being hurt by their husbands and claims of being socially disadvantaged. FACTORS THAT INFLUENCE THIS TREND: Laws: There are many laws and regulations the give women advantages which are promoted by women, particularly by shrill feminist groups but they are enacted by men who are made to feel guilty for being a chauvinistic. Court decisions: The majority of judges are men who have been roundly criticized for being insufficiently hard on men and are now trying hard to demonstrate that they are as much or more concerned about women in the decisions regarding custody etc. Creeping Compromises: Due to lack of diligence, apathy, indulgence etc. men have allowed women to dominate their lives especially as bosses in various government agencies. Timidity: men are afraid of confrontations partly because there are such awful consequences associated with responding to women’s provocations by showing anything that could be construed as violent. It is also due to the fact that men in a world with so much sexual titillation, fear they will be cut off from affection and intercourse. Joke told to me by an Irish woman. Stupidity: Men have ignored the evidence that they provide significant levels of life sustaining hormone in the seminal plasma during sex that makes women more healthy and happy. Unthinkingly they use condoms. They have been misled into believing that with contraception and abortion, they have unlimited sex. They forget that women are basically dissatisfied if they are not having the benefit of his hormones or when he is basically uninterested in making her pregnant Church: Good Christian men are expected to sit quietly while another man is shouting them at. This goes against their grain. Men would much rather stand up and shout back. Conditioned Passivity: By watching sports and the news, men have vicarious adrenalin surges while they are inactive and sedentary. The vicarious excitement rewards them for sitting and passive behavior while they should be leaping to their feet to help. School and Sedentary Work: Men are expected to sit quietly while being educated and performing deskwork. Their muscles tend to atrophy and their hormones become less prominent. Clothing: Testicles are supposed to dangle outside the body. Being heated and constricted by tight underwear or tight jeans interferes with the testicular function. Guilt and Shame: In an attempt to be loved and appreciated, men accept epitaphs of chauvinism etc all too readily. They are made to feel ashamed of their masculinity and desire for dominance. Working Women: Animal studies have demonstrated that if the female is stressed during pregnancy, she will secrete higher levels of estrogen, which tend to feminize the male offspring. Now a greater percentage of women are working, one wonders if consequently there is not a general feminization of boys. Active Challenge: In times of past primitive warfare and/or exploration incurred demand to be alert and vigorous. In former times going to work they could spur their horses and have a little race. In their high-powered cars they are sedentary and woe be tied them if they are to compete on the highway. Persistent Tendency to Deceive and Manipulate. Though women now have so many legal, social and economic advantages over men, they seem unwilling to give up manipulating and deceiving men that they have used throughout history. RESOUTION: There are no simple answers especially at this point in time. Things may have gone too far. However, Christians should remember the fact God created women to be helpers of men. This was not helping around the house. This was to help men pursue a challenge or to defend their homes. Christians in general forget that in times of peace, especially nowadays, women have many attributes and advantages that make it easy for them to compete with and dominate men. They forget that they are involved in an all out, daily, spiritual war. Evidence has shown that under battle conditions men make quicker and better decisions than women. Christians are at war against poverty, discrimination, abuse, abortion and a myriad of other body, soul and spirit destroying powers. Under these conditions women should be helpers. It is up to the man to take the leadership in tackling at least one of these real disasters. A violent drunk comes weaving down the street and turns in toward their home. Nine out of ten times, he will confront the threat and she will rush into the home to hide her children. Is not this as it should be? Then why ignore these God given instincts and discourage men from doing what is to their honor and to the family’s and the state’s benefit? Addendum, The Relative Power of Men and Women** So how did this imbalance of power between men and women begin and where will it lead? Satan who committed the original sin of wanting to be like God and usurp His power, tempted the mother of all humans, to join him. The route to power that appealed to Satan and consequently to Eve, then and now, was knowing both good and evil. Of course women should be educated to the limit of their individual design but not to know good and evil. To know is to understand thru experience. The greatest good experience of any woman is to know conceiving, bearing and delivering a child. The greatest evil is to destroy a child at any time of his/her existence, especially during his/her intra uterine life. Freely available contraception and abortion have now made the knowledge of good and evil so easy to experience that few women can deny the temptation. Many women exalt in their newfound power and want their “sisters” to have the same so they have no qualms in recommending having an abortion even when there is no logical or medical justification. Yet that power does them no good. God said, (Gen. 3:1 to 19) “And though you may desire to control your husband, he will be your master”. What God states, is. With all their knowledge of good and evil, with all their social, political, legal and economic advantages, men are still the masters. Why? It seems to me that men can live without women more easily than women can live without men. Why? Because men have what women instinctually yearn for; semen, seminal hormones, babies, support and protection. In spite of all the rhetoric and coercion, women can’t seem to shake their biological destiny. After a successful career, education, money and fame, they approach their forties with near panic lest they miss having a child. What is less easy to understand is why men so readily hand to women what is their mutual undoing. Is this a partial explanation? Adam appears to have been with Eve when she was tempted. “She also gave some to her husband who was with her”. Why didn’t the dummy stop her? Maybe he was hoping for a sexier wife. Men are more in favour of women contracepting with hormones than are women, primarily because they think they then will have unlimited sex. Maybe he was using her as the “wine taster”. As the wry humorist wrote, “women first, especially in case of danger.” God said it was “because you listened to your wife…” Wives so often complain, “He never listens to me”. Men to mean, “He won’t do what I want” or more precisely, “he won’t let me control him” usually understands this. Most men strenuously object to being controlled by women even when they are unable to prevent it. Yet it’s their own fault. Maybe when Adam saw how old and soiled his new bride became after succumbing to Satan’s ploy, he felt sorry for her or couldn’t face a future without her or was so joined as “one flesh”, he really didn’t have a choice. He “took the dive” for her; joined her in her fallen state. Ever since, most men have aided and abetted women in their pursuit of the knowledge of good and evil. They have encouraged the use of contraceptives, persuaded partners to have abortions, by lack of sufficient support, forced their wife to leave their children in day care and work etc. All of this should have given women what they wanted, if not power, certainly a powerful influence over men. But it appears that women are less rather than more content than their mothers. Sensing they are losing their appeal to men and that their “power” does them little good in the long run, they are emphasizing their sexiness. With breast implants, soft bras showing off their erect nipples, inviting cleavages front and back, women have made themselves into sexual objects rather than intimate lovers. Not so long ago women felt shame if they were barren. Now they are made to feel shame for having more than 2 children. Once the vagina and hymen were greatly honored. Now the vagina is polluted with bacteria and virus from many sexual contacts. There is such a high likelihood of transmitting some of these that many couples are engaging in any kind of sex except vaginal intercourse. Once the vagina was referred to as the birth canal down which a child was encouraged with joy and anticipation to exit and greet the family. Now for more than 50% of the women in the world, it is the door to death into which a cold lethal tool is introduced and down which, still twitching, arms and legs of a recently murdered human are extracted. Faced with the horror making sexual contact with such a contaminated organ, it seems more men are preferring sex with men, mixing violence with sex because the are so unsure of their masculinity or protest by subconsciously becoming impotent. The serpent has successfully struck again. It is rapidly seducing, dehumanizing and enslaving men, women and children. Since it appears there are too few wise and courageous people to reverse this trend, God will have to step in. I suspect when He does come to straighten out the affairs of men and women, it will be dramatic and maybe climatic.
