Stop Smoking - Perfectly Natural Ways

  1. Cigarette smoke is poison. It gradually destroys many body systems and interferes with healing processes. The body knows this. The mind too often ignores the warnings the body would like to tell it. So how to let the mind experience what the body knows. It’s easy. Smoke one then eat one. It is a fool proof, free, money back guaranteed method, which in my patients has never failed. Mention it to your patients who are so desperate to quit, “I would try anything doc” and watch them gag at the thought. Then you are ½ way there. It only takes about 4 cigarettes and they are cured for life. Mind you they have to be pretty well motivated. Yes I am serious of course they can avoid eating the filter. The mechanism is aversive conditioning. The taste and misery in their stomachs will stay in their mind to remind them of the poison they inhale.

  2. Every addict I know lies, first to themselves then to the friends, neighbors, bosses and doctor. MD, “How much do you smoke?” Patient, “Oh I would guess about a pack a day”. You can safely add at least 10 cigarettes to get a more accurate number. So ½ the treatment consists in helping your patient become honest. MD. “I am offering you a handful of cigarettes. Guess how many there are” Having counted them you quickly know he is low by 30% to 40%. MD. “Okay that is how much you are lying to yourself or should I say to your mind. You body knows the exact number. So here is what you must do: a) accurately count and graph the total of ½ cigarettes you smoke each day. Pin the graph to your bathroom wall beside the mirror you shave in. b) When you have 7 days, draw a red line through the high points and a green line through the low ones c) Note and record on the graph, factors you find associated with the good days [lots of love from your family] and bad days, [anger at “those idiot drivers”] d) Modify your behavior so you experience more of the good factors and less of the bad ones. Regularly show your graph to your wife or boss who will praise and otherwise reward you for changes downward. They will scowl and growl if it goes up. It won’t fail. This will work if you are honest and as your doctor, I will like it very much."
